Born in Racine, WI, this respected American stage actor was a popular star of the thirties and forties. His real name was Frederick McIntyre Bickel. He was married to actress Florence Eldridge and frequently acted in Broadway plays with her. He is best known for his Oscar winning performance in The Best Years of Our Lives (1946). This film was the biggest money maker of the 40’s. CONTEST RULES
This contest is open to all members of Catholic Holy Family Society who are in good standing. Officers and employees of said organization are not eligible. In the interest of fairness to all contestants, your answer should have the correct spelling. In the event of more than three correct answers, the winner shall be determined by a random drawing from all of the correct entries. Should no correct answer be received all of the prize money shall be added to the following contest. Catholic Holy Family Society shall be the sole judge of each contest and its decision shall be final.
