Cubs or Cardinals?

The Holy Family Society of the U.S.A. in Joliet, IL has recently announced its plan to merge with Catholic Fraternal Life in Belleville, IL.  The members of both fraternal benefit organizations have voted unanimously in favor of the merger at special conventions held in August and September.  They now await the approval of the Illinois Department of Insurance since both organizations are domiciled in IL.  The planned effective date of the merger will be January 1, 2008.  The combined Societies will be known as Catholic Holy Family Society. 

In celebration, the Belleville office sent those in Joliet a bouquet of flowers decorated for both Cub and Cardinal fans alike.  The two Societies are having fun recognizing that each office has a special devotion to a particular baseball team.  Some things may never merge!
